There is a myriad of things to do and see in the surroundings of Les Homs. To begin with the rich history, there are the remaining castles and ruins of the Cathar-period. A stay in this region without visiting la Cité of Carcassonne, with its 52 turrets would not be complete. Other famous Cathar castles and vestiges are Peyrepertuse, Montségur, Arques and of course Rennes le Chateau (The holy blood and the holy grail). Wine tasting is a must. The Pays d’Oc offers you a great variety of wines as the Malepère and de Cabardès wines. The Limoux white sparkling wines, the famous Blanquette de Limoux deserve special attention. On the other side of Carcassonne you’ll find the large vineyards of the Minervois.
Montolieu (15km) is a famous “village du livre”.
Mirepoix (20km) is a well known medieval village with a beautiful square and houses in lovely colours.
You can visit Toulouse (Aerospatiale) or make a boat trip on the Canal du Midi.
Mountain biking, swimming, fishing, tennis, rafting, hiking, biking, it is all possible in this region.
In the living room you’ll find a map with all this information gathered by the owners and their guests.
